Well, this was a difficult one. They are all such good covers, and I am especially fond of Lee Brown Coye -- I believe that Centipede Press is thinking of issuing an art book full of Coye artwork, but such ain't listed in ye new catalog what I picked up at MythosCon. In ye end I chose DREAMS AND FANCIES -- a book I found in ye dealer's room at WFC in San Jose and bought, primarily FOR that splendid cover, although the book has some points of amusement. I love not only Taylor's fascinating artistic style but the weird fluid lettering with which he presents book titles. Arkham House has long had superb covers. The Raymond Bayless jackets for the Lovecraft titles were fabulous, and what a disappointment for many of us when they were replaced by ye gawd-awful hideous and immature jacket art of Tony Patrick which mar the current editions.
